Why this is important: Why this is important: If "democratic" nations do not allow the existence of all political viewpoints, they hinder change towards something better. Hendrik Möbus' case is a relevant example of how a "democratic" system squelches dissenters. The "crimes" that allegedly violated his parole were non-violent and political in nature. In actuality, they are not "crimes" in the United States at all but are acts specifically protected by the First Amendment. Nevertheless, these "crimes" are being used quite happily by the U.S. government in its attempt to deport him to Germany, where he will spend time in prison for engaging in free speech. If you favor a system which allows its citizens to change it's nature, you should support freedom for Hendrik Möbus and the elimination of laws limiting free speech.
